Sound is a gateway. Sound travels. Some believe that our hearing is the last sense to go as we die. In honor of sound, I am excited to present a new incarnation of it to you.

Introducing…Agile Vocalist, a blog dedicated to sound. Agile Vocalist will tell stories of the lives of sound creatives and creators, including my own. It features anyone whose work touches that sense (the makers, the musicians, the creators and the enablers).

If you love music or are an audiophile, this new incarnation has some early roots:

Hand pulling back a theater curtain to reveal word cloud of song lyrics
Word cloud of songs portraying the community management profession

Sound can help chronicle what it’s like for people who work in a particular profession — in this case Songs of Community managers.

Songs on my back; marchers share in music why they came. 2017 Women’s March on Washington D.C.

Sound can express help us express our emotions and capture feelings when words are inadequate. Best of all, music can help us take action. Here are the songs that the marchers at 2017’s Womens March on Washington D.C. shared with me.

You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone out there who doesn’t get some need met by this essential sense, be it through music or some other way.

I hope you will join me and follow along on the sound odyssey of Agile Vocalist!
